(Emblematic)  The immersive virtual reality film “We Who Remain” that takes audiences to the remote Nuba mountains of Sudan, debuted last week at SXSW and on NYT VR. The film brings viewers into the lives of four people – a student, a rebel soldier, a journalist, and a mother – who struggle to improve their lives in the midst of a relentless war. We Who Remain was created by Nuba Reports, a pioneering journalism initiative that produces films and news from the front lines of Sudan’s conflict zones, and Emblematic Group, in collaboration with NYT VR, AJ+ and Arte. Legend VR worked with Emblematic Group on the post-production of the film.
This 14-minute film is available to watch in a VR headset with the NYT VR app for Android or iPhone.
