Bigscreen Focuses on Collaboration in Social VR Market

(WSJ)  People will share their computer screens with each other—in virtual reality in the future if Bigscreen Inc. achieves its goals. Andreessen Horowitz led a $3 million stake in Bigscreen, betting the startup can provide social experiences as these immersive technologies are just getting off the ground.
Though the market for social virtual reality is nascent, the social network Facebook Inc. and another startup, Altspace VR, have focused on social experiences in virtual reality. Mr. Shankar said Bigscreen will differentiate itself from these players by focusing on collaboration, not just socializing. He said that the company could provide tools that could also be used in business.
