Analysts Predict Shopping Decisions of the Future Will be Powered by AR & VR Technology

(RetailDive) Infiniti Research is reporting that shopping decisions that will be powered by augmented reality (AR), as well as virtual reality (VR), are among the top retail technology trends of the future. For example, with AR, shoppers interact with a mirror or screen to help them visualize how a piece of furniture would look in a room in their homes. AR also enables shoppers to see how garments look on them without having to try them on.
To make store experiences more personalized for customers, retailers will increasingly use beacons, Internet of Things (IoT) devices and mobile apps. Infiniti’s report said this retail trend is a “sure shot” for obtaining more customer loyalty and satisfaction as it helps shoppers find products that most closely match their tastes and needs.
